New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is giving the go-head for patients with certain degenerative disease and the threat of serious health risks to access medical marijuana before the full cannabis program is due to roll out in January.

The state still has not designated what producer will provide the drug for early distribution.

People with AIDS, terminal cancer and children with severe epilepsy are believed to be able to benefit from the early distribution of the drug.

Meanwhile they’re already picking pot in New York State for the medical marijuana program that rolls out in January.

Vireo Health scheduled a November 12 event in Perth in Fulton County to mark it says is the first legal harvest of marijuana in the state in over 100 years.

Vireo is one of five companies selected to grow and distribute non-smokeable medicinal cannabis in the state.
