Yesterday, Westchester County Executive Astorino announced Chemung County Sheriff Christopher Moss is his choice to run for Lieutenant Governor.

Moss grew up in the Elmira area and has been Chemung County Sheriff since 2006.

Moss currently is the head of the New York State Sheriff’s association.

Astorino and Moss will be accepting the Republican Party nomination during the party’s convention in Westchester County this week.

Astorino commented on WNBF's Binghamton Now  that he plans to have his Lieutenant Governor take an active role as a partner in state government and to not regale him to solely ceremonial duties or for filling in for the governor if the pair is elected in the fall.
