New Year’s Day Assualt Leads To Arrest

A Southern Tier man is being charged with felony assault and criminal possession of a weapon in a New Year's Day dispute in McGraw.

Cortland County Sheriff's Officials were called to a Church Street home for a report of a domestic problem and say they found 35-year-old Duron Ruffin arguing with a former girlfriend while holding a baseball bat.

Ruffin is also accused of assaulting a man in a second floor apartment earlier in the day.

The investigation is continuing and authorities say that more charges against Ruffin are pending.
