The Binghamton Bearcats women's basketball team dropped a 63-61 decision to the New Hampshire Wildcats Wednesday night at the Events Center.  A layup from Brittni Lai with just two seconds remaining broke a tie and gave the Wildcats a win.

The win gives New Hampshire a 2-1 America East record while the Bearcats fall to 1-1. New Hampshire was picked in the America East preseason poll to win the conference title.

Imani Watkins led the Bearcats in scoring with 20 points.  Watkins ranks third on the all time Binghamton scoring chart and is now 16th in America East in all time scoring with 1,783 points.  Kai Moon scored 16 points while Alyssa James added 12 points along with five blocks.

The Bearcats remain home and will host the Hartford Hawks on Saturday afternoon at 4 PM.  The men play at 2 PM at Hartford and both that game and the women's game will be aired on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
