The New Hampshire Wildcats withstood a Binghamton Bearcats comeback in the second half January 9 and topped BU 58-43.  It was the third consecutive victory for New Hampshire over Binghamton.  The game was the conference opener for the Wildcats while Binghamton drops to 0-2 in America East play.

Binghamton's outside shooting woes continued with the Bearcats making just three of 20 shots from beyond the arc for 15 percent.  Coming into the game Binghamton was hitting under 27 percent of their three-point attempts.  Willie Rodriguez led the Bearcats in scoring with 20 points and notched a double-double with 11 rebounds.  Thomas Bruce had his finest game as a Bearcat with a perfect day shooting (5-5) for 10 points and seven rebounds.

New Hampshire had two players in double figures with Jaleen Smith notching 15 points and Jacoby Armstrong hitting for 14 points.  The next game for the Bearcats is Wednesday night at 7:00 when they host Hartford at the Events Center.
