The investigation continues, but a 4th arrest has been made in connection with a Halloween night home-invasion robbery in the Town of Marathon.

Cortland County Sheriff’s officials say 49 year old JaneMarie Burke of Spencer joins her son Ian Burke, as well as Gage Hatch and Jennifer Kaye in facing charges for the break in where she was the caretaker of an elderly couple in the home and said she was assaulted and a safe was stolen.

Sheriff’s Deputies were called when Burke said two people had gotten into the home on Route 11, punched her when she confronted them, then made off with a safe that contained money.

Authorities say, during the course of their investigation, they determined JaneMarie had made previous arrangements to have the safe removed from the home by the other defendants when she was working on the evening of October 31.

Burke was located in the Binghamton area with the help of the Binghamton Police Warrant Division Tuesday and taken into custody.

She is charged with felony counts of conspiracy, making a false statement and grand larceny as well as misdemeanor criminal facilitation and falsely reporting an incident.

She was sent to the Cortland County Jail without bail.
