A man being held in the Broome County Jail as a fugitive out of Louisiana and on two burglary counts is facing an additional felony charge following a fight at the jail.

Officials with the Broome County Sheriff’s Correction Division Criminal Investigations Unit say 32 year old Spencer Aucoin of Nashville, Tennessee allegedly got into an argument with Inmate Frederick Barns over a card game while in the programs room.

The dispute moved into the recreation yard.

Other inmates said Barns was knocked unconscious and fell against the wall where he cut the back of his head open.

Barns was treated at Wilson Hospital.

Aucoin is now charged with felony assault.
