Normally a traffic stop for speeding wouldn’t get much attention in the news, but the story changes when the ticket is written in Vestal for the New York State Commissioner of Motor Vehicles.

The Albany Times Union and Capitol Confidential report that Barbara Fiala was pulled over for speeding near her home October 12.

The former Broome county Executive has reportedly pleaded not guilty.

There has been no word on how fast Fiala had been accused of going over the speed limit.

Fiala’s office called the incident “unintentional and regrettable.”
