Multiple Injuries In Downtown Binghamton Crash

Several ambulances were sent to the scene of a head-on crash in downtown Binghamton late Tuesday afternoon.

Two vehicles collided at the intersection of Chenango and Lewis streets around 3:45 p.m.

At least one person who was injured was trapped in a vehicle and was removed by firefighters using a hydraulic tool.

Initial reports indicated one person may have sustained a serious head injury.

Traffic was detoured around the busy intersection while workers removed the wrecked vehicles and cleared debris from the scene.
