A northern New York Man is spending time in the Cortland County jail after New York State Police say he tried to outrun them on a stolen motorcycle and was found to have a pipe bomb and methamphetamine in his possession.

Authorities arrested 34 year old Brian Deamer of Harrisville (Lewis County) last month after a worker on Interstate 81 reported a Harley Davidson traveling at a high rate of speed in Cortlandville.

A Trooper tried to stop the motorcycle September 19th, but the bike continued to race off in a northbound direction.

The chase was called off when it was deemed unsafe but Deamer was arrested after crashing into a median in the Town of Tully. Authorities say the biker continued to resist but was taken into custody with the help of a second trooper and a contruction zone worker.

State Police say Deamer is charged with felony counts of criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of stolen property as well as misdemeanor unlawfully fleeing a police officer, reckless driving, driving while ability impaired by drugs, criminal possession of a controlled substance and was issued traffic tickets.

Deamer was sent to the Cortland County Jail on $5,000 bail.
