Motorcyclist Dies in Southside, Binghamton Crash

A motorcyclist is dead following a crash on the South Side of the City of Binghamton.

City police say the man failed to negotiate the dog-leg curve in the westbound lane on State Street just before 9 p.m. August 17

The man, whom authorities say has family located out of the area, has not been identified pending notification of next of kin.

The investigation into the cause of the crash is continuing but officials said they are looking at the possibility that speed may have contributed.

All lanes of State Street were closed down for several hours following the crash.
