Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Route 26 in Maine, NY hosted its 35th annual Oktoberfest celebration this past weekend.  Thousands attended the event which began Friday night and finished Sunday at 5 PM.  There was music and entertainment throughout the festival but most who attended came for a wide variety of homemade food including their signature item....clam chowder.  Also featured were piroghi, halupki, chicken spiedies and many delicious desserts.

The Oktoberfest unofficially wraps up the outdoor  festival season around Broome County.  Most Holy Rosary parishioners volunteer their time and talents to plan and assist with the event.  Church members of all ages help  with selling food tickets, taking food orders, staffing various displays and booths and of course making all the food including baked goods on sale to help fund  numerous Church activities.

Planning for next year's Oktoberfest has already begun.  The Oktoberfest draws people from all around the region including Pa.
