In spite of frequent warnings by local law enforcement agencies telling people to make sure their vehicles and homes are locked, there's another report of a string of thefts from unlocked vehicles in Broome County.

Over the past several weeks, City of Binghamton Police have reported vehicle larcenies and burglaries on the South Side.

Broome Sheriff's officials now say they have been investigating a rash of larcenies in the Chenango Bridge and Hillcrest areas over the past couple of weeks.

Authorities again remind residents they should remove all items of value and lock their vehicles.

Anyone with information about the Broome County vehicle larcenies is asked to call the sheriff's office at (607) 778-2990 and ask for Detective Sergeant Cower.

In addition, people seeing someone acting suspiciously or something out of place in their neighborhood are encouraged to notify their local authorities.
