Students in one Pennsylvania School District may be getting an extended break from classes.

The Montrose Area School District has been placed on notice that the Montrose Education Association has called a strike beginning at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday, March 29 over a contract dispute.

The District says, students will stay home during the strike but parents will have to transport children to after school activities, which will still take place during the strike.

Montrose students who take courses at the Susquehanna County Career and Technology Center in the Elk Lake district will continue to have those classes.

Office and facilities staff are not included in the strike.
