Project Unveiled For Binghamton’s North Side
A site on the north side of Binghamton is to be redeveloped with plans calling for apartments and commercial space.
A developer, STK Partners, has revealed details of a $2.5 million project for property on Eldredge Street just west of Chenango Street.
The development is to transform vacant and run-down buildings into a mixed-use complex.
Steven Reid of STK Partners expressed confidence in the future of the city.
Interior work on a five-story building at the corner of Chenango and Eldredge has been underway for several weeks.
Apartments in that building are to feature an "industrial theme" with exposed brick, stainless steel appliances and granite countertops.
The apartments are to be marketed to students and young professionals.
A cafe, lounge space and an industrial workshop are planned for the building's ground floor.
A neighboring vacant building on Eldredge Street is to be demolished.
