Mixed Precipitation Closes and Delay Schools

Winter is not done with the Twin Tiers yet as snow, that began in the afternoon March 18th continued into the early morning hours and mixed with rain and sleet.Just over a half dozen schools in New York and Pennsylvania opted to close while several others delayed a couple hours to allow road crews time to clear the roads and salt.

No major crashes were reported but there were a few incidents of cars sliding off the road and a two vehicle crash near Castle Creek on Interstate 81 with a minor injury, likely due to weather conditions. Heavy sleet conditions were reported in that area.
