Broome County Sheriff David Harder is extending his thanks to searchers who set out early October 9 to look for a 30 year old Windsor man who had been reported missing from Locust Street in the Village since October 7.

Authorities say Brian McNulty was believed to be distraught over personal issues.

Searchers set out at around 6:20 a.m.

A trace of cellular phone signals resulted in officers, search dogs and a medical helicopter locating McNulty on an island in the Susquehanna River in Windsor at 3:10 p.m.

He was conscious but semi-alert.

Authorities say the Life-flight helicopter transported McNulty to Wilson Memorial Regional Medical Center in Johnson City.

His current condition has not been released.

In addition to the Broome Sheriff’s K9 Unit and the Life-flight chopper, search and rescue teams came from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Forest Rangers and Windsor Fire Department.
