Missing New Berlin Man’s Body is Found

New York State Police say they have recovered the body of a New Berlin man who had been reported missing by his roommate earlier this month.

Investigators say the body of 45 year old Daniel Reimers was found, submerged on the eastern shore of the Unadilla River in the Town of Butternuts in Otsego County two weeks after he was reported missing.  Officials say the site is about two miles south of the Village of South New Berlin.

Reimers’ roommate filed a missing person report when the Chenango County man did not return home on November 7^th and there had been no contact with relatives or friends.

The search detail that located the body consisted of New York State Police, Town of New Berlin Police, New York State Forest Rangers, Chenango County Sheriff’s Deputies and civilian volunteers.

The investigation is continuing.
