Missing Cortland County Teen is Found

Updated 10/24)   A Cortland County girl who was reported missing and believed to be in Broome County has been located.

Last evening, Cortland County Sheriff’s officials said 15 year old Makyla Standish had been located with the assistance of the Broome County Sheriff’s Office and the Broome Special Investigations Unit Task Force and returned to Cortland County.

The authorities had issued a missing person alert at around 11 a.m. October 23 and said the teen might be with a man in the Endicott area.

The updated release that came at about 8 p.m. did not offer any details into how and where the girl was found or her relationship to the man mentioned in the initial alert.
