Cortland County Sheriff’s officials say an investigation into a potential violation of an order of protection has lead to the dismantling of a methamphetamine manufacturing operation.

Deputies say when they were talking to 37 year old Curtis Stevens of Cortland at a location on route 41 in the Town of Scott about the order of protection, they saw several components used in making methamphetamine.

A search of the location turned up several items used to manufacture methamphetamine as well as several fluid ounces of a substance that tested positive for meth.

Stevens is charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine as well as misdemeanor criminal contempt.

He was sent to the Cortland County Jail without bail.
