The operators of a Binghamton medical transportation and taxi service are not going to jail for defrauding the Medicaid system.

Federal prosecutors say 69 year old Kenneth Cohn was charged with grand larceny and workers compensation fraud.  He has been sentenced to 5 years probation.

His wife, 65 year old Sharon Cohn, was charged with offering a false instrument for filing and was sentenced to one year conditional release.

Each has been ordered to pay $50,000 in restitution.

The couple was accused of bilking the Medicaid system out of a million dollars while not filing worker compensation papers and  offering false claims for compensation for the transportation of patients to Medicaid-paid doctor appointments while they operated Yellow Medivan and Taxi from June 2012 to June 2014.
