Mayor: “Good Chance” for Binghamton Casino Bid
Binghamton Mayor Richard David says he believes "there's a good chance" an application for a casino license will be submitted to the state.
New York's Gaming Commission has issued a request for casino license applications from the Southern Tier.

The mayor said he's "not surprised" that an application for a Binghamton casino license is being considered.
David said he believes there's "a lot that the city has to offer" for a prospective casino developer.
The mayor would not identify who has expressed an interest in the possibility of pursuing a casino license for a Binghamton site.
David said he thinks there would be benefits "financially and economically" to the city if a casino project could become a reality.
Applications for a Southern Tier casino license will be accepted through early July.
The mayor said he believes "the chances are good" for a possible proposal for Binghamton, although he added it's certainly not "a done deal."
David said he's been "talking with one party, not multiple parties" about a casino project.
Tioga Downs owner Jeff Gural has said he intends to submit another casino license application for his Nichols property.
No other prospective developers have publicly announced an interest in seeking a Southern Tier license in the renewed siting process.
