The 3rd Annual Mase Madness Basketball Tournament wrapped up tonight at the dual gyms at Johnson City Middle School. There was competition in various age groups for both men and women.  Athletes traveled from all around the region to compete but most were from the Broome County area.  Former Binghamton University standouts Chretien Lukusa and Jimmy Gray competed as did former Syracuse University point guard and assistant coach for the Bearcats Lazarus Sims.

Along with the basketball competition there were dozens of autographed items auctioned off and 126 gift baskets that were raffled off to those who entered.  All proceeds benefit the Mason P. McKan Benevolence Fund.

The tournament is held in memory of Mason P. McKan who was born on July 13th, 2011 and passed away unexpectedly at the age of 6 months and 13 days from SIDS. Family and friends decided to honor Mason's by organizing and holding this basketball tournament.  It now has evolved into an annual event and has grown each year.
