A Cortland County man is accused of cooking meth at his home on Gee Brook Road in Marathon.

34 year old Michael Gohl of Marathon and 20 year old Patrick Mott of Cortland were arrested by New York State Police following a traffic stop on river Street in the City of Cortland Tuesday, April 26.

Troopers say they found methamphetamine and marijuana in the vehicle and a following search of Mott’s South Avenue apartment and Gohl’s home turned up drug scales, spoons with meth residue, 10 spent one-pot meth labs and numerous ingredients used in manufacturing methamphetamine. More drug packaging materials and scales were also confiscated at the Gee Brook Road location.

Gohl is charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor criminally using drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Mott is charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Hazardous materials abatement crews had to be brought in the following day to clean up dangerous materials used in methamphetamine manufacture at the Marathon home.

State Police say the investigation is continuing and additional charges are pending.
