Officials in Central New York and the Southern Tier are looking for a suspect in the robbery of a Cortland County business.

Cortland Sheriff’s investigators say a man entered River Bend Antiques on Route 11 in the Village of Marathon shortly at 12:06 p.m. November 8th, talked with an employee for a few minutes, then displayed a handgun and demanded jewelry from a display case.

The man fled in what appeared to be a full-sized, newer extended cab, short-box pickup truck.  The light gray truck left the parking lot of the business and traveled south on Route 11 (Cortland Street).

Officials say it’s believed the suspect got away with between $4,000 and $7,000 worth of jewelry.

There were no injuries.

The man is described as white, middle aged with a slender build.  He stood about six feet tall, had dark brown hair, short scruffy chin hair and was wearing a baseball hat.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Cortland County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Division at (607) 753-3311.
