Binghamton police are attempting to find a man suspected of firing several shots at a person on the city's West Side.

Authorities say they are seeking information on the whereabouts of 21-year-old Shamel Hunter.

Investigators say Hunter is suspected of firing three to five shots from a handgun toward a 25-year-old man.

The incident happened near 77 Main Street at about 2:48 a.m. Sunday, January 31. No injuries were reported.

Police say Hunter is black; is about six-feet, one-inch tall; and weighs approximately 180 pounds.

People with information about Hunter may contact Binghamton Police at 607.772.7076.

Detectives say people should not approach Hunter but should contact police if he is spotted.
