Endicott Police are continuing to investigate stabbings November 16 and 17 in the Village after arresting a Village man on 11 charges.

Police say the owner of the Washington Deli was stabbed in the arm at around 12:45 p.m. November 17 during a reported altercation with 29 year old Lonell Barnes.

The deli owner said he asked Barnes to leave after he was harassing customers.

The business owner was taken to the hospital for treatment and released.

Barnes then is said to have punctured tires on two parked cars and stabbed a 32 year old woman who was walking on the sidewalk.

The woman was stabbed in the neck and a business owner pulled her into his store and called 911.

The woman was also taken to the hospital, treated and released.

Police say Barnes then entered Citizens Bank and announced a robbery.

He is accused of stealing money from a teller’s purse before fleeing.

Police chased the man and, unsuccessfully, attempted to subdue him by using a Taser.

Minutes later, authorities found Barnes inside a sushi restaurant at the Price Chopper Plaza on North Street and took him into custody. Investigators say they are looking into whether Barnes was involved with the stabbing of a 19 year old on  North Street at around 9:30p.m. November 16.

Barnes is charged with one felony count of robbery, one felony count of attempted assault, two felony counts of assault, three felony counts of criminal possession of a weapon, one felony count of menacing, two misdemeanor counts of criminal mischief and one misdemeanor count of resisting arrest.

Police say at this time there does not appear to be any connection between any of the victims and the accused and all of the acts appear to be random.

Anyone with additional information is asked to call Endicott Detectives at (607) 757-2479.
