A Missouri man was killed as he worked to clear timber along the route of a natural gas pipeline in Bradford County.

Authorities say 42-year-old Kenneth Elliott was using a chainsaw to cut a tree Wednesday afternoon.

The tree struck him in the head and knocked him to the ground near Berwick Turnpike in Burlington township.

Elliott was pronounced dead about an hour after he was hit by the tree.

Investigators say Elliott was working for Midway Oilfield Constructors of Midway, Texas.

A coroner ruled Elliott's death was accidental.
