Man Charged With Homicide In Otsego County Death

A Long Island man has been indicted in connection with the shooting death of a fellow hunter in Otsego County.

Authorities say 57-year-old Robert Gerbino of Garden City was arrested by New York State Police on Tuesday.

Gerbino was charged with criminally negligent homicide in the November 16 death of 52-year-old Charles Bruce of Franklin Square.

Gerbino and Bruce were in a group that had been hunting on private property in the town of Westford.

Investigators say Bruce was shot in the chest. He died at the scene, which was in a wooded area near Steve Braun Road.

Police say no other criminal charges are pending and the investigation has been completed.
