Man Charged with DWI, Resisting Arrest After Pursuit
A 31-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly led state troopers on a nearly three-mile chase.
Authorities say Raysaun Slaughter of Ithaca was charged with felony counts of driving while intoxicated and aggravated unlicensed operation.
The pursuit started after a trooper tried to stop Slaughter for an equipment violation on Route 96B in the town of Ithaca.
The pursuit - which lasted about three minutes - ended on Marshall Street in the city of Ithaca.
Police apprehended Slaughter after a short foot pursuit and a brief struggle. In addition to the felony charges, he was charged with unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a vehicle and resisting arrest.
Investigators say Slaughter refused to submit to a blood alcohol test.
Slaughter was arraigned in Lansing town court and sent to Tompkins County Jail on $5,000 bail.
