Man Charged with Criminal Mischief for Jumping on Car Hood

Bob Joseph/WNBF News [file][/caption]A Whitney Point man is accused of jumping onto the hood of his wife’s car and pulling their small child out of the vehicle in a neighbor’s driveway.

New York State Police say 25 year old Daniel Hunsinger is charged with criminal mischief and endangering the welfare of a child.

Troopers say they were called to a report of a dispute outside of a home on State Route 26 in the Town of Nanticoke at 11:50 a.m. March 27 and say Hunsinger had seen his wife drive by his home with the child before pulling into the neighbor’s driveway.

Authorities say after leaping onto the hood, causing damage, he grabbed the child out of the car seat and held it.  After a brief argument, the child was returned to the car and the mother drove away.

There were no injuries.
