Authorities say one man attacked another following a dispute that apparently involved loud music.

The stabbing occurred in a 12-unit apartment building at 85 Pennsylvania Avenue around 10 p.m. Sunday.

A suspect was taken into custody at the scene shortly after the attack. Investigators on Monday afternoon said the man who was arrested had been charged with first-degree assault. His name was not immediately released. He also may face charges not related to Sunday's incident.

The name of the person who was injured was not disclosed by police. They indicated his injuries were serious but they did not elaborate. He was taken to a local hospital after he was stabbed. His condition was not known.
