Man Accused of Stealing Nearly $30,000 in Deposit

State police have made an arrest in connection with the theft of thousands of dollars from a woman in Deposit.

Authorities say 73-year-old Spencer Harford of Amsterdam has been charged with third-degree grand larceny, a felony.

Investigators say Harford was arrested on Wednesday by state police from Deposit.

Harford allegedly acquired a tractor and some cattle valued at $29,800 using checks when he did not have the money in his account.

Harford was arraigned in Deposit village court and sent to Delaware County Jail on $10,000 bail.
