The Maine-Endwell Spartans withstood a two-touchdown fourth quarter from Chenango Forks and held on to earn a 28-21 victory over the Blue Devils at Chenango Forks. Quarterback Kyle Balmer scored three touchdowns for the Spartans and Michael Palmer scored a touchdown on an interception for the four Spartan scores.

The Forks battled back with fourth quarter touchdowns from Cody Lamond and L.J. Watson but fell short as time ran out.  Lamond stole the football from Spartan running back Jon Cerra early in the third quarter and raced into the end zone from 27 yards out for the score.  Watson carried in from the three yard-line to cut M-E's lead to seven points.

The win was the 53rd consecutive victory for the Spartans.  Last season they defeated The Forks 20-7 at Maine-Endwell.  Next up for M-E is a trip to Susquehanna Valley September 19 in a 1:30 kickoff (air at 1:20 on News Radio 1290 WNBF).
