The Maine-Endwell Spartans notched their 27th consecutive victory Saturday at Spartan Stadium in Endwell when they defeated the Binghamton Patriots 35-14. Quarterback Kyle Gallagher threw two touchdown passes and ran for another while  Darnell Woolfolk scored a pair of rushing touchdowns for the Spartans who move to 2-0 this season. Binghamton falls to 1-1.

M-E opened the game with a 65-yard TD pass from Kyle to his brother Adam Gallagher with just 18 seconds gone on the scoreboard clock.  The PAT failed making it 6-0 Spartans.  Binghamton answered with a 48- yard  touchdown run from Amman Weaver.  Alex Boychuk kicked the extra point and Binghamton had the lead 7-6.  All this in the first 1:10 of the game.

After a pair of penalties brought back apparent M-E touchdowns Binghamton made a big goal- line stop on fourth down.  But after the Spartans' defense held a bad snap on a punt attempt enabled M-E to pick-up two points via a safety.  That made it 8-7 Spartans.

The safety seemed to take the wind out of Binghamton's sails.  M-E added one of Wollfolk's TD's and finish the quarter up 15-7.  The Spartans added Woolfolk's second touchdown on the ground and a touchdown pass from Kyle Gallagher to Trevor Garbelman put the score at 29-7 M-E  to close the first-half.

The teams traded second half touchdowns to make the final 35-14 Maine-Endwell.  Next up the Spartans travel to Windsor for a Friday night game while Binghamton travels to Horseheads for a Saturday afternoon encounter.
