The Maine Endwell School District is looking to fill a vacant seat on the Board of Education.

Long-time board member, Alan Ewing died following a brief illness September 17 at the age of 69, leaving a vacation position on the panel.

The District says Ewing had been the Board of Education president since 2012 and had served on the board for 16 years.

The successful candidate will serve out Ewing’s seat for the rest of the school year with the seat up for election for a one year appointment May 17.

School Board members’ full terms are three years.

Letters of interest are being accepted until November 20.

The first interviews will be held November 17 with other interviews scheduled for November 24 and December 1.
