Mail Truck Crashes in Vestal

Authorities are investigating what caused an early morning tractor trailer crash on Route 17 East, right at the Tioga/Broome County border.

The truck carrying mail rolled into a bridge abutment at about 4:44am on October 2nd, and began leaking fuel.  The driver got out safely.

The rollover on the highway did not appear to impact traffic as much as power lines that were brought across the Vestal Parkway at the west end intersection with Front Street in Vestal.

Traffic was being diverted around the area as crews worked to clear the wires from the road.
