Legislation penned by New York State Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo of Endwell to ensure proper care for patients when moved out of institutions like the Broome Developmental Center is being ash-canned by the Governor.

Andrew Cuomo has vetoed the bill introduced by the fellow Democrat.

Lupardo issued a statement saying she was very disappointed by the action.

New York State is looking to close the Broome Developmental Center and other institutions around the state next year and move patients into community-based programs like group homes.
