Bob Joseph/WNBF News [file][/caption]Lockheed Martin has handed over the keys to the first of 9 helicopters being delivered to Denmark.

Officials with The Royal Danish Air Force joined workers and dignitaries at the Lockheed Martin facility in Owego for the delivery celebration October 22.

Lockheed is installing the technical systems for the MH-60 Romeo aircraft built by partner Sikorsky.

Officials say the chopper, also known as the Seahawk, is a multi-mission vehicle that is used for search and rescue, anti piracy efforts and surface combat missions.

The rest of the choppers are expected to be delivered to the Danish Air Force by 2018.
