Bob Joseph/WNBF News [file][/caption]It looks like Lockheed Martin in Owego is going to be working on two new multi-million dollar helicopter contracts for the U.S. military.

Senator Charles Schumer says $303 million is in the defense appropriations bill for work on the presidential helicopter project while $273 million is earmarked for the U.S. Air Force rescue helicopter program.

Lockheed is paired with Sikorsky Aircraft as the main contractors on the projects.

The allocations still have to make it through the final budget process.

About 2,800 people are employed at Lockheed Martin’s Owego facility.
