Some of the Lockheed Martin jobs being impacted by the closing and consolidation of facilities in Arizona, Ohio and Pennsylvania may find their way to the Southern Tier of New York.

Company officials have indicated that sites in Owego and Orlando, Florida are being eyed as facilities that could get transfers.

The consolidations and closures announced in the past several weeks are being blamed on decreased spending on defense contracts by the federal government.

The movement of workers from the affected facilities could happen early next year.
