Steven Reid - who oversees family-owned properties near the Antler Lodge on Chenango Street - said he believes July 24th's deadly incident should represent "the tipping point."

Reid said about ten people live in the two buildings he manages near the lodge, where a 33-year-old man was gunned down.

Reid said the residents often are afraid to call police when problems occur with those who visit the establishment.

The property manager said family members have been hoping to redevelop their properties near the intersection of Chenango and Eldredge streets.

But, he said, the Antler Lodge is "a huge hurdle that we need to get over."

Reid said he would like city officials to utilize the Lockdown Law to respond to the long-running trouble linked to the club.
