Liverpool Woman Accused of Driving Impaired in Castle Creek
A Central New York woman is accused of felony criminal possession of a controlled substance and driving while impaired by drugs.
New York State Police say the arrest of 34 year old Melissa Ipson October 13 came after a trooper saw the Liverpool woman appearing disoriented as she sat in her vehicle at a gas pump at the Mirabito on Castle Creek Road in the Town of Barker.
The authorities say the woman then drove to a parking space at the convenience store.
Troopers say they found she had cathinone bath salts.
Ipson was also charged with a violation of possessing a controlled substance in a non-original container.
Authorities say the DWI charge is a felony since Ipson had a prior conviction within the last ten years.
She was sent to the Broome County Jail without bail.
