A Lisle man will serve five years in federal prison for robbing banks in Broome County and Pennsylvania last year.

44 year old Samuel Parrotti pleaded guilty in January to bank robbery in connection with the theft of over $38,000 from four banks.

In each case, Parrotti slipped notes to the bank tellers demanding money and indicating he had a gun.

The M&T Bank on Vestal Avenue, Binghamton was robbed July 16th. The NBT Bank on Route 11 in Whitney Point was held up August 1st. The Pennstar Bank in Scranton was robbed August 6th and the Visions Federal Credit Union in Sayre was the target August 27th.

Parrotti asked for a light sentence given troubles he had with addiction and the fact that he had no prior criminal record.  Officials say Parrotti could have been sentenced to up to 20 years in federal prison.
