Republican Thomas Libous and Democrat John Orzel plan to face each other in a live forum on WNBF Radio's Binghamton Now program.

Libous was first elected to the New York State Senate in 1988.

Orzel has served as mayor of the village of Whitney Point. He's also been a member of the Whitney Point village board of trustees and the Triangle town council.

The candidates plan to join Binghamton Now host Bob Joseph for an hour on October 31 to discuss issues important to Southern Tier residents.

Binghamton Now has extended an open invitation to all candidates for major races to make joint appearances with their opponents on the program between now and Election Day.

Democratic Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo and her Republican challenger, Julie Lewis, also have agreed to appear on Binghamton Now to talk about the issues in their race.
