Thomas Libous and Anndrea Starzak say they have submitted nominating petitions for the November ballot in the 52nd state senatorial district.

A statement released by the Libous campaign says thousands of signatures were turned into the state Board of Elections office in Albany on Wednesday.

Libous is seeking to run on the Republican, Conservative and Independence party lines.

Starzak, a former Vestal town supervisor, is seeking the Democratic party line. A statement from her campaign says more than 2100 signatures were delivered to the Board of Elections office on Thursday.

Libous was first elected to the state Senate in 1988. He says he's seeking another two-year term, even as he battles cancer and prepares to fight a federal indictment accusing him of lying to the FBI.
