LG & T Tennis Challenger

The 24th Annual Levene Gouldin & Thompson Tennis Challenger will be held July 22nd – 30th at Recreation Park in Binghamton.  The tournament began in 1994. Some of the top rising stars in professional tennis have played in the event with the most famous being Andy Murray. Murray is a three-time Grand Slam tournament winner and two-time Olympic gold medal winner.

Qualifying rounds begin on July 22 with the singles and doubles championships scheduled for July 30th. Prize money totals $75,000.  The LG & T Tennis Challenger is part of the U S Open Wild Card Challenge.  The USTA awards one men’s single draw into the 2017 U S Open.  The draw is based on total points earned in five specified tournament appearances all of which are similar to the L G & T Tennis Challenger.

Along with tennis competition there are numerous activities associated with the tournament.  Connected activities include: A fast serve contest; Pro-Am competition; Pickleball demonstration, Dick’s 10 and Under Clinic and the Wilson/USTA Youth Tennis Clinic.  For updates and additional information go to:
