The City of Binghamton is appealing to residents to help them keep storm drains clear by not dumping all their leaves in the street.

Officials say leaf litter on the streets can block storm water basins and the cost of treating leaf litter that gets to the sewage treatment plant can become expensive.

Residents are asked to minimize the amount of leaves along the curb lines.

Meanwhile, due to the holiday, there is no yard waste collection at any time in the City this week.
