Binghamton police say four people were stabbed in an outburst of violence in a West Side home.

Investigators say one man died and three other people were taken to Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City for treatment of their injuries.

Police were called to the area of 120 Leroy Street at 8:19 a.m. Tuesday to investigate what was believed to be a domestic dispute.

When officers arrived at the scene moments later, they found two men and two women outside on Leroy Street.

The body of the man who died was found on the street in a pool of blood next to a black Kia.

A woman who had been walking her dog said she heard two women screaming for help before police arrived. A man then emerged from a house and yelled at someone before also calling for help.

Detectives say all of those involved were believed to be members of the same family.

Investigators Tuesday afternoon said search warrants were to be executed at 118 and 120 Leroy Street.

Police said the man who died appeared to have been the "primary aggressor." They did not elaborate.

Investigators would not release the names of those who were involved.  Detectives said the three people being treated at Wilson Medical Center underwent emergency surgery. Their conditions and the extent of their injuries were not reported by police.

Leroy Street was closed between Laurel Avenue and Beethoven Street for several hours because of the investigation.
