The Susquehanna County District Attorney says the Lanesboro Police Chief is clear to return to duty and is justified for firing a shot toward a vehicle during an incident June 2 at around 9:30 p.m. in the Borough in which he chased a truck that failed to pull over and sped off at over 80 miles an hour.

District Attorney Robert Klein says the Chief acted appropriately when he shot out a tire as the driver of the truck appeared to threaten to run him over.

18 year old Scott Rivenburg was arrested and charged with flight to avoid apprehension, fleeing and eluding, assault, reckless endangerment and related charges.

Klein says the Chief shot out a tire as the truck moved toward him.

There were no injuries.
